Pind Kargo Khan is one of the 51 union councils of Abbottabad District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan [2] it is located 30 km from Abbottabad city.

The population of Pind Kargu Khan is over 20,000. The local language is Hindko. The main ethnic groups or tribes of this area are Tanolis and among them are also scattered some Awans and Syeds families. The local dress of the people is Shalwar/Qameez.
Pind Kargu Khan is an historical town, the huge forest of pine tree named Kohe-e-Balehana is located on the peak of Sando Gali, most of the residents are engaged with agriculture where the main crops are maze and wheat. A beautiful valley with the flower of Rose, Chamblali, Sunflower, Bunnaksha is covered by full greenery around it. The main streamlines of water supply goes from PK Khan to around all the Union Council and as well as to the Union Council of Sherwan. The main fruits are apricot, pomegranate, locate, peach, apple, and strawberry. The people of PK Khan are mostly engaged in transportation, farming, mining business and 55% of the population are related with the job outside PK Khan.
Upper and Lower Khalora village has a distinguished position in this union council because it is a beautiful valley surrounded by lash green mountains, beautiful landscape and is the gateway to neighbouring Union Council of Sherwan. The majority of the people of Khalora Upper and lower migrated to Karachi due to the better opportunities of employment which the government has been able to solve in Pind Kargu Khan and neighbouring areas.
There is no major party in politics which have influential role in the politics of PK Khan, the people of PK Khan are well aware with their social and political rights. Although there are some great names in the politics of UC like (first president of Tanawal Pakistan Mulsim League), Khawas Khan Tanoli,Haji Kala khan (late died on 02 September 2011),Pir Khan Tanoli, Sultan Muhammad Khan Tanoli (advocate), Fida Muhammad Khan Tanoli (social worker), Haji Sikandar Khan,ABDUL REHMAN, Dildar Khan Tanoli, Haji Mushtaq, Munsaf Khan, Late Imtiaz Tanoli, Babu Khushal who are very popular among the people of union council, and they played a tremendous role in the development and building of surrounding areas of Pind Kargu Khan. Also there is a great name in the politics of Pind Kargu Khan is Patwari Muhammad Sajjad from Besala, who is most social person of the Union Council and very popular among the people of Pind Kargu Khan. and there is also energetic,actve,papular,social, and learned personality of u/c pind kargu khan is MR ABDUL AZIZ KHAN TANOLI ADVOCATE High court abbottabad who belong to villege bessala, play important role in politics and social area.
Mr MUHAMMAD TANVEER S/o MUHAMMAD RIAZ belonging to Village KHANDA KHOO studied from High School SHERWAN, is serving as District Programme Manager in SARHAD RURAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME at BATTAGRAM. MrMUHAMMAD TANVEER is playing important role in social, educational, developmental & political affairs of the area.
Pind Kargu Khan is rich of GOD gifted mineral resources. There is great stock of soapstone, soapstone bandi nakra bagla chlatar Marble and Magnesite in this beautiful valley. Highest reservoirs of Soap Stones have been explored from KHANDA KHOO,since last 40 years. Mr MUHAMMAD RIAZ is one of the major contractor exploring Soap Stone from KHANDA KHOO, which is not only creating job opportunity for the local community but also contributing to regional and ultimately national mineral exploration. Soap Stone is used in Talcum powder, ceramics, soap, crockery making purpose also. Soap stone is processed into power shape in grinding mills, mainly in Mera and Khota Qabar( Muslim Abad ) then is supplied to major industrial estates of Punjab. also there is a great stock of Black Marble in Zaro Gali and Sando Gali which has been already explored and using for commercial purposes.
